D. Mark III Interior |
1.
What are the basic components of the interior of a Mark
III? A racing-style, reclinable/adjustable seat sits in
the center of the pod. Armrests on both sides of the seat line
the entire back half of the pod for purposes of comfort and to house
all joystick, throttle, and gamepad peripherals. Also included
is a pullout keyboard desk, shelf to support monitor, and
mounts at the back of pod for rear speakers. |
| 2. I
am a rather hefty gentlemen/lady, will it be a tight fit for
me?
The Mark III is
surprisingly spacious. |
| 3.
Won't it get a little stuffy in that coffin of a pod?
No,
the entire pod is properly ventilated using a quiet blower that can be mounted
on the left or right side of the cockpit to accommodate your
computer mounting preference.. Ventilation
holes have been placed on the front and rear walls. Outside
air is pulled in, and the warm air generated by the PC is
pushed out. Needless to say, your pod will need to be placed
in an area that is well air-conditioned. |
| 4.
Can I live inside of a Mark III?
Any
self-respecting hardcore gamer would spend more time inside the pod,
than outside, so yes. |
| 5.
I'm claustrophobic, will this be a problem?
Possibly. While quite spacious and
comfortable to sit in for long periods of time, the Mk III is fully
enclosed and quite dark for gaming purposes. Please consult a proper
specialist before making your purchase. |
6.
Can I fit a 42" plasma in a Mark III? Despite what
Gizmodo says, yes you can. And we did so at QuakeCon 2008
(Call of Duty 4 + 42" plamsa + 3D capability = win). Anything
larger than a 42", though, and you'll be in trouble..
|
6.
Will sound reverberation be a problem in an enclosed
space? No. About 75% of the interior of
a MkIII is carpeted for sound dampening purposes. Echoed sound will not be a
problem.
